What Is Katal?

In 2007, at the University of British Columbia, engineers Stephen Slen and Aaron Coret started to collaborate on a design project to help mitigate the ever-growing risk of freestyle ski/snowboard progression

The project – to develop a Landing Pad (LP) for skiers and snowboarders – is inspired by a tragic snowboarding accident that left Aaron a quadriplegic and sparked his desire to give something back to the sport he loves: an invention that allows skiers and snowboarders to progress with reduced risk.

Katal has spent 3 years developing large-scale inflatable technology to produce effective safety products. The Katal setup is the most progressive freestyle setup ever offered to the public. Katal’s 2010/11 LP Tour offers resorts the opportunity to be the first to host an event that riders will not want to miss.
